In this course you have learned about

What Mother Tongue Based Bilingual Education (MTBBE) is and why it is needed;

What translanguaging is and the difference between translanguaging and code-switching;

How teachers can use two or more languages for teaching, learning and assessment;

The kind of multilingual materials that teachers can make with their learners as well as published materials such as multilingual dictionaries that you can use to help you as you implement MTBBE;

The fact that from 2025 assessment in Grade 4 Mathematics and Science will no longer be provided in English only but in the languages teachers use with learners for speaking, reading and writing.
